Peter, a partner in the firm of Allen, Jack and Cottier, was commissioned by Sydney photographer Michael Miller to design a holiday retreat house on a difficult site but one with stunning views. Michael, who runs his own film production company, seized the opportunity to buy the land three years ago. While working in film in New York for five years, he developed an enthusiasm for loft style living and wanted to continue escaping from the big smoke to a holiday weekend retreat. From the living room area and the deck outside, you look to the view of the ocean and Broken Bay. The wind break at one side is a detachable canvas panel for extra privacy.
