Description:
This two-year old camel, now christened Roberta E. Lee, is getting VIP treatment. Here she is being fed by Qantas ground hostess Miss Pat Hanna. And size permitting, she will shortly be flown to America to "star" in a historical pageant in Victoria, Texas. The Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Cr. Nathan, handed over Roberta E. Lee to Mr James T. Carter, of Victoria, Texas, who came to Australia to find a camel for his pageant. Miss Hanna and Traffic Officer Mr Don Greenway measured the camel to see if it could be transported in a Qantas plane. But so far no decision has been made. Roberta is at the zoo meanwhile.
